The Goodrich

The Restoration

A careful, phased revival.

Historic preservation doesn't happen all at once. The Goodrich is being brought back to life in phases — some spaces open sooner, others require more time and support. Below: the current roadmap, and recent updates from the building.

Phased roadmap

  1. Phase 1

    2025–2026

    The Loft

    Now booking

Interior restoration of the ~1,000 sq ft loft space — hardwood floors refinished, brick walls cleaned, lighting and egress complete. Now open and taking private bookings.

  2. Phase 2

    2026–2027

    1919 Gathering Space

    Under restoration

Structural assessment and stabilization of the original elevator tower base, preparing it as a community gathering space. The most complex preservation work in the project.

  3. Phase 3

    2027+

    The Mercantile & Trackside Patio

    Under restoration

A small shop inside the original mill room — built around the preserved grinder and other grain-handling machinery kept in place as a working exhibit, stocked with local and artisanal goods. Alongside it, The Trackside Patio: an outdoor gathering space on the side of the mill that faced the rails it was built to serve, set with engraved donor bricks from the Brick Legacy Initiative, with views of the historic 120-foot tower.

Help carry the work forward

The most complex preservation work — the elevator tower and the gathering space beneath it — depends on community support. Sponsor a brick, contribute to the preservation fund, or offer in-kind services and materials.
